In light of the recent tragedy at a movie Theatre in Colorado, we should take a moment to reflect on our personal safety at home and when we are away from home.

A few months ago while traveling on an airplane I took a serious moment to indentify my escape route in the event of an emergency. Most of us whether we want to admit it or not do not take the time to study the card the flight attendant waves around in the beginning of the flight. I read the card and studied the door operations system. Due to the sheer weight and various steps involved in opening the door it actually is not the easy process!

In this changing world we all live it’s important to study emergency exit routes and door in the event of an emergency. Run through different scenarios in your head, what would I do?

Even in our own private homes or apartments we need to be aware of our emergency exits routes and tactics in the event of an intruder, or other form of emergency such as fire. Where will you go, what will you do, are you safe? Don’t wait for something to happen before you react take time to be proactive with your personal safety. http://www.safetyathome.com/home-safety/
